Laundry

We supply a wide range of materials to test all aspects of laundry detergents.

Standardized Testmaterials

CFT produces an extensive range of machine soiled testmaterials. These standardized testmaterials produced at CFT are produced by running the fabric through a bath of soil suspension. This production process and strict quality control make the testmaterials very reliable and reproducible. All product sheets for our different soils can be found in our swatchbook.

  • Most cost effective of all testmaterials
  • Available on 8 different substrates
  • Cutting service available in any size
  • Most of the materials available from stock

As a  lot of consumers wear coloured items, the preservation of coloured items and the prevention of discolourations on items are important aspects of a detergent. There are two types for assessing these aspects. Colour fastness tests and Dye Transfer Inhibition tests.

In a Colour Fastness test your detergent will try to preserve the colour of the dyes items. Most of these test compromise a full scale multi-wash test. The textiles are dyed in the same way. We have a wide selection of different substrate-dyeing techniques available.

Dye Transfer Inhibition tests are very different. In this case, the textiles are dyed ‘poorly’ on purpose. The materials are designed to bleed dye in the wash liquor. Most of the time, these tests are performed in labtest setup like a linitester or a Tergotometer.

  • We offer materials for tests like the AISE DTI test and the AISE Colour Fastness test
  • The monitor on the right contains all dyed fabrics of the AISE 14 dye subset

Circular Stains

CFT produces a large range of Circular Stains. These circular stains are mostly produced from store bought items. Our customers use these stains in final stages of product development, for claim support and in marketing. The standard size for the circular stains is a 5 cm diameter stain on a 10 x 10 prewashed swatch. All product sheets for our different soils can be found in our Circular Stains book.

  • Available on 4 different prewashed substrates
  • Very suitable for test soil-repelling polymers
  • Exclusive customization possible on request
  • Minimum order quantity of only 50 stains

Fabric Care

As most detergents perform very well in stain removal tests, the secondary wash performance has become a more important part of detergent development. We offer materials for many fabric care tests. a wide range of materials to test prevention and removal of pilling, shrinkage, mechanical action, prevention of greying, rejuvenation of greyed fabrics and softness.

  • We offer materials for many fabric care test
  • CFT also offers a Softness test kit. This is a new tool for objective softness measurements. The perfect extension to the assessment of your CT-20H terry towels. For more information please check CFT Equipment products.

Monitors & Strips

Multi-swatch monitors are very useful if you want to test your detergent on multiple different stains at the same time. The largest advantage of these stain sets is that they are ready-to-use, because we have already sewn the swatches to a special white carrier fabric for you. This means you will save a lot of time because you do not have to tag all the swatches to your load.

You can choose your own combination of soiled swatches on the monitor. Custom monitors are available from 50 pieces or more. If you need fewer monitors, you can choose one of our standard monitors which are available per piece

Strips are a robust choice for heavy wash processes like industrial washing machines. Strips can also be useful for whiteness measurements, because they allow you to use bigger swatches that can be folded to measure through different layers.

  • Available in custom configurations from 50 pieces
  • Standard sets matching standards like AISE and ASTM available
  • Special open structure carrier fabric for optimal water flow through
  • Carrier fabric is dimensionally stable (even at 90°C wash temperature)

We offer a very extensive range of different white fabrics. Or range goes from Cotton to Synthetics and from Woven to Knitted and everything in between!

Please contact us at info@cftbv.nl if you are looking for a specific textile or if you need any help. If you want to take a look at all our fabrics, check out our pricelist below.

We also publish a list of the white values of the most used fabrics. The list of fabrics is available for download with the left button.

(Soil) Ballast Load

Along with the stains, your machine must be filled with a wash load. Because using consumer loads is a very expensive and difficult practice, we offer standardized load. Most of these loads are a selection of standardized white fabrics fabricated in the form of items typically found in consumer wash loads such as bed sheets, towels, pillow cases and men’s shirts.

However, a consumer would never wash an item with a stain in a load that is otherwise completely clean. By placing soil ballast sheets in your wash loads, the load wil better present a full wash load of consumer soiled items. The most commonly used ballast load materials are SBL-CFT and W-SBL 2004.

In addition to the white loads we also offer a coloured consumer load and many other items. With our inhouse sewing department we are also able to offer a complete custom load.

With the left button you will find a selection of the most used Soil Ballast and Ballast Load items.
